Improve your stroke by learning to feel the water

Are you swimming… or just moving your arms?

Feel the Water Lab is a technique-focused, sensory-based swim clinic designed to help swimmers develop a better connection with the water. Rather than relying on more effort, this session focuses on improving how you feel, hold, and move through the water for greater efficiency and less fatigue.

Led by Coach Alex Tikhonov, this clinic is ideal for swimmers who want to refine their technique, improve stroke awareness, and get more distance from every stroke.

Why join this clinic?

During the water session, participants will work through targeted drills designed to improve

  • Sculling drills to develop hand and forearm awareness
  • Slow, controlled swimming with a focus on holding the catch
  • Catch-and-hold drills with pauses
  • Stroke efficiency work emphasizing distance per stroke

What you will gain

By the end of the session, participants will learn how to

  • Better feel and hold the water
  • Move further with each stroke
  • Reduce unnecessary movement and drag
  • Minimize fatigue by swimming more efficiently

Proposed itinerary

  • 9:45 AM – Registration and briefing
  • 10:00 AM – 10:20 AM – Break / coach feedback
  • 10:20 AM – 11:20 AM – Technical drill progression
  • 11:20 AM – 11:40 AM – Review and final swim set
  • 11:40 AM – 12:00 PM – Wrap-up, certificate presentation, and giveaway

What to prepare

Participants should come ready for a focused pool session. Standard swim training gear is recommended.
