MATTHEW VALI

SWIM COACH

Nationality: Papua New Guinean
Languages: English, Hula Dialect, Tok Pisin

I am from the island of Papua New Guinea (PNG) and am a proud member of the Papua New Guinean National Swimming Team, having participated in the most recent 2023 Pacific Games in the Solomon Islands. I am a former recipient of the World Aquatics Scholarship program based here at Thanyapura, where I spent a year and a half as part of their 2022-23 cycle at this incredible facility. It was here that I also obtained my Level 1 Assistant Swimming Coach Certification from World Aquatics.

I am truly passionate about swimming and sports in general, and am proof of the experiences and doors it can open if you choose to actively participate. I hope to share my knowledge and skills as an athlete, as well as my love and enthusiasm for the water, with swimmers of all ages and abilities, as I believe that swimming is an essential skill that anyone can learn.
